Snow!

We finally get snow in Toronto, this is tracks from the shopping cart, taken with the iphone 4s, my new toy of choice to carry with me on the go for shots just like this one.

Green space

In August St. Paul's began a project to inject the arts into the church, so that artists of all disciplines would be able to use their talents to worship God and share that form of worship with their community. Our aim was to show the city through the eyes of artists, the city in this case turned out to be green space that lies right beside the DVP, a major highway that passes through downtown Toronto. These shots were taken on our first ever photo walk with St. Paul's Anglican church on Bloor St.

Digital

I can remember when the only way to enjoy the art of photography was in the dark room, and if I had the cash to keep that form alive in my own home I would, don't mistake me here, but I love the digital age and the advances it's made for the art of photography.

This shot, taken from the iphone is an example of how you can make art out of something as simple as a window! How great is that? I can document my life with photo's, edit them and post them to the internet, email them, or message a friend all within moments of the event happening. This particular shot was taken as I played air hockey with my oldest son.. and it was posted to facebook while still playing the game...

 the window shot at the beginning of the post was taken near the end of the beginning of the game, and this next one was taken at the end of the game. All shots were taken just one short hour ago, but were on facebook withing minutes. Gone is the need to carry my large camera around (though I can't really go anywhere without it... just in case) but now, art can be made out of the simple moments, the sweetest moments in life.

The four year old won the game by the way...

I have to thank God for all the brilliant minds out there who have dedicated their lives to creating technology that allows me to stretch my moments into lifetime memories!

First shoot of the new year

I began this blog with great intentions... and then I hit a very busy patch... :D Which is of course very good! I don't mind being busy, however one of my new years resolutions is to get this blog active again so here we are. My first shoot of the new year was yesterday it what a great family! I like nothing better than meeting new people, and watching them interact and enjoy them each other and then catching those moments on camera.
